Fire Season

On Saturday evening we could see a lot of smoke from our front yard so we rode toward Fountain Green and saw that the mountain was on fire. It was pretty close to Kenzie's work, so we wanted to go check it out and make sure the boys were safe. We sat and watched as it quickly spread over the mountain. By the time it got dark Saturday, the fire had spread over 3,000 acres. We rode up Skyline to get a better view of the flames and it was unbelievable. It hasn't stopped growing, and today they are saying it has burned 39,000 acres. Hundreds of people have been evacuated from their homes and about 30 homes and cabins have been burned in the fire.

Right now, we are PRAYING that our property and trailer haven't been burned yet. Everyone in Hideaway Valley has been evacuated, and the highway is closed so we don't know if the fire has reached our land yet or not. But we know it is close. We will be devastated if our land burns up, and our first trailer! :(

On the bright side, at least our house is safe. A lot of people in our area haven't been so lucky!
