Longest Post Ever [But SO worth it!]

Okay, so I know I get on here every

Monday and talk about how we had the

best.weekend.ever.

But seriously,

this one topped the charts.

Every year this is a highly anticipated weekend.

We left on Friday after work...

We left Hemi at Mike and Amy's.

She wasn't happy about being left behind.
She kept trying to climb back in the truck.

When we arrived in Grantsville,

we went to dinner at Wingers with Tara and Steve.

It was yummy... I over ate.

Then we went to Baba's and got the shirts

for the race, then went to Tara's and slept over.

****

We had to get up at like 5 o clock Saturday morning

to get into Salt Lake in time for the race.

If you haven't heard of

Race 4 the Cure

it is a 5k where all proceeds

go to breast cancer research.

Since our grandma died of breast

cancer, it is a special day for us.

When I was a little girl,

my mom, Baba, and I started going to the race

and now our WHOLE family goes.

It is awesome

and it is on Mothers Day weekend

every year.

My favorite picture of the weekend...

This was the first year my hubby has been able

to come to the race.

His mom and grandma both died of cancer too.
Even though it wasn't breast cancer,

it is still really special to be able to spend

Mother's Day weekend this way.

Our awesome family!

After the race,

I took my momma to go get a massage

for Mother's Day.

Talk about best 50 minutes

of my life!

Dang, it was awesome.

After that,

we met the boys at Sizzler for lunch....

Then went to go buy our tickets for the
Bees game that night.
Since we were in the first 1000 fans
to get to the game,
we got a free pink shirt!

After the game,

we went back to Tara's to sleep over.

On Sunday morning,

we woke up and went to go visit our

grandma's and Kenzie's mom.

Here is my man at his grandma's grave.

She was like a mom to him

after his mom passed away when he was 3.

And I know he misses her so much.

My grandma Becky's grave.

I know she must have been proud to

see her family at the race.

We were all carrying the little ones

and sporting our "Becky's Bunch"

t shirts.

My grandma Jennie's grave

Kenz's Mom-

We took a flower to his Mom's grave

and took a few pics.

She was so pretty

and I wish I could have met her so bad.

On our way home,

we stopped at a few stores to do a little shopping.

I saw this little giraffe and I had to buy it!

Here's the story:

You know the commercials with

the little tiny giraffes?

Well one day at work,

we got on the website of the people

who raise them

on a farm in Europe.

It has all this information about them

and pictures and even a webcam.

It says they are called Petite Lap Giraffes

or PLG's.
Well me and Erin decided we NEEDED one.

We did some research and sadly,

we came to find that they are just not real.

Haha, we were pretty sad.

Erin set her wallpaper on her computer

as a picture of a PLG

and it is our inside joke now.

So when I saw this little PLG at the store,

I couldn't resist!

Look at my cute Miche bag... LOVE IT.

******

When we got home,

we stopped and gave Amy her present

and picked up our puppy.

Then we went and took some pictures

for my friend Mal.

When we finally got home,

we ate chicken and rice,

watched a new movie (The Dilemma)

and fell asleep on the couch.

It was a great way to end the weekend.

But before I knew it,

my alarm was going off and I was

getting up for work.

And here I am.

How do you even go from having

that kind of weekend

to going to work.

I am like depressed.

Haha, hopefully as the day goes on

I will get back in my routine and cheer up!

******

I am hesitant to pick a highlight of the weekend

because every single second was a BLAST.

But the one highlight that sticks out

to me was that Kenzie made a couple comments

about how he was ready for a baby anytime I am.

That doesn't mean that I AM ready.

But it was really cute to hear him talking like that.

Looks like we have some great things

waiting for us in our future.

*****

Have a great week everyone!!!!!

Old Habits Die Hard.

Well I started working at the Activities Center

at Snow again.

I knew all the students would be leaving

so I went in and asked Roger if they needed

any help for the summer.

So he put me on the schedule for a couple

shifts a week.

And he was nice enough to schedule me

only on the nights Kenzie works a swing

or in the early mornings.

I did my first shift last night,

then worked again this morning.

Not much has changed around there

and it was super fun seeing all my cute

little old people who come in every morning to work out.

The reason I say old HABITS die hard is

because I think of my time at the AC more as a

hobby than a job.

It is a fun place.

And it reminds me of my time at Snow.

I miss those days a lot.

Me and Kenzie spent every single moment together

and we had like no responsibilites.

We would just go do whatever sounded fun.

Those were the days that I really got

to know the person my husband is and fell

100% in love with him.

I remember one night I was super sick

so he came over to my apartment with medicine and

held my hair back for me while I puked up tomato soup.

EeWwwEeee!!

I got to dance every single day.

And I made some of my very best friends.

So it is nice to be back and be reminded of

so many good times.

My cute shirts I am supposed to wear to work.

Bright and early!!

I had to steal this quote from Jaquie...

"Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being “in love” which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossoms had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two."

♥

I love this.

As much as I miss those

in love, carefree, fun days we had,

I am so loving this stage of our lives.

We are discovering everything that remains

after the "in love" has burned away

and our roots are growing more together

every single day.

It is amazing to be on a deeper level

and to choose to love unconditionally.

Yes, things are less exciting.

But things are more meaningful.

And at this rate,

I can only imagine how wonderful

the future will be.

Well this weekend was another fun one!

We spent Saturday and Sunday helping Fred brand their cows.

Growing up, this was always one of my

favorite things to do in the spring.

There's nothing like going home and getting in the shower

and having the smell of burnt cow hair

permeate the bathroom.

Haha, just kidding. I know that's sick.

But it is fun being on the farm with everyone

and watching the boys throw those calves around!

* Notice how there's never

a shortage of beer with these guys! haha

Me and my litte girl ♥

I just had to turn this one black and white

because my puppy is just so precious!

Baby Hegan!

They put poor little Mason in the chute!

I wouldn't want to be in the place where they lock

the cows up to brand them, cut them, and give them shots

but hey.... boys will be boys!

My cute hubby~

Ames and baby H!

I just had to snap a picture of this cute little guy!

Asher the baby plumber :]
He kept wandering around pretending like he

was moving the cows saying

"Come on cows!"

Poor little things don't even know what's coming!

Mickey and Waylen

On Sunday night we went over to Joe's and hung out with him and Britt.

We have been deprived of our Joe time since he

got him a woman!!

I thought this was a cool picture...

A silhouette of my man in his baby

(his truck)

deep in thought.

I sure do love this guy.

He is seriously the best.

We have been having so much fun lately...

At this rate, I think we are in for the best summer EVER!

*hearts;

Easter Fun!

We had an awesome Easter this year!

We spent our holiday camping with the fam

and friends on Fred and Jen's farm.

We went out Friday and stayed until Monday.

It was rainy, but it was fun!

Quincy fixing our generatorGood thing Hemi is such a good helper!

What a dork lol...

Twinkies were the food of the weekend.

Haha we ate way too many!

Amy and the babies :]The boys playing catch...

Hemi kept thinking he was trying to play fetch

with her. Haha she's not used to sharing attention!

Waylen showing off...

We were having a contest of who could get the best picture of him!

Horseshoe tournament!

Waylen and Ty Jo....

Haha little Tyler was cracking us up!

She told Kenzie that girls have vaginas!

Super fun weekend!!!!!!!!
