The Snake Problem.

So, I've probably told most of you this story..

In my most dramatic, story telling voice.

But here's the update on our big move!

We were living with the in laws

when we had the snake problem.

Not only were there snakes outside,

but inside too.

After seeing several

(and freaking out every time)

I was trying to tell myself to get over it

and stop being so scared of them.

I was having a hard time sleeping

and would wake up crying thinking there

were snakes in my bed.

Well then last Saturday me and Quincy were

sitting on the couch watching a movie

and Hemi started acting strange.

So I looked down and there was a

snake trying to crawl UP MY BLANKET.

Holy fetch.

I had a total come apart.

And I think Quincy

knew there was no way I was going to stay

there another day.

So we started packing.

And we moved that night.

Here is Kenzie and Joe moving some of our stuff in.

This is the living room.. We have the rest of our furniture

in there now, so I will take some new pics and put them up

when I finish decorating.

So our good friend David

thought it would be hilarious to buy one of

those stupid rubber snakes and put it by

my car at our new house.

I freaked.

SO not funny. ****

So that is the story of why we just

picked up and moved all our stuff in one day.

Haha a little dramatic, I know.

But seriously... I couldn't deal.

We love this place,

and will hopefully be here until

we start building our house.

"Too Many Calories."

I just feel like I need to apologize to all you girls
because I took the greatest guy on this earth!
Oh my goodness,
sometimes I forget how great this guy is.
***
I remember when I was going to Snow,
he would work all day,
then come pick me up from drill team practice.
There were nights he would sit in his car for an hour
waiting for me to get done so he could see me.
I will never forget the day he drove to
Ephraim from Arizona
just to dance with me at my showcase for Badgerettes.
***
I have been working so hard at the gym lately,
and everytime he wants to eat something I tell him I can't..
"Too many calories."
So the other day we went and got pizza for the boys
and I swear the smell was taking over my car.
It smelled delicious.
So I asked him to grab me a piece,
and he thought it would be funny to tease me and say
(in the same annoying tone I use all the time)
"Too many calories."
Needless to say, I freaked out.
Told him how big of a jerk he was, etc.
I gave him the silent treatment the whole way back,
and made sure he knew that he made me feel bad.
So he goes back home,
and not even five minutes later
I have THE NICEST voicemail
telling me how he did NOT mean it like that,
and I was so pretty.
And he was so wrong and so sorry.
*
When I heard that it hit me so hard
that I am seriously so lucky.
I don't know a lot of guys who are always
so willing to admit when they are wrong and apologize.
And he does it all the time.
Even when it's not even his fault!
He is always telling me how pretty I am,
and how I don't need to lose any weight.
But I am so insecure,
and I just know he's just being a good husband
and telling me what I want to hear.
I just feel so lucky to have someone begging me to
believe them that they love me and the way I look.
***
Living with my in laws has been rough for me.
They have been super nice to me.. But
I love having our independence,
and I miss having my own little home to decorate.
I miss our couch, and all my kitchen stuff.
He has been begging me to just stick it out so we can
save money for a while.
But the other day we found two more snakes in the house.
And I just totally snapped.
I couldn't sleep.
I have been terrified.
So he calls me the other night and tells me
he got us an apartment in Ephraim.
**
I have never loved anybody as much as I love my husband.
He just cares so much about my needs.
He is truly an awesome guy, and I know there's
nobody out there like him.

Day 26- What Do You Think About Your Friends and Day 27- Why Are You Doing This 30 Day Experiment?

* Most of my life, I never had a "best friend."
Even now, my best friend is Quince.
I was never that little girl who was asking my mom
every day if I could go play or have a sleepover.
I always got homesick anyway.
Don't get me wrong,
I have some friends that I have known since I was a kid,
and they are awesome.
But in all honesty, I can probably count
on one hand how many friends I actually trust with my secrets.
***
If there are two things I've learned about friendship its that
* True friends are hard to come by,
so when you find onehold on to them.
* And at the end of the day, the people who will
always be there for you are your family.
***
* Why am I doing this 30 Day Experiment?
Cuz I run out of things to blog about, and I think these things are fun.

* Dang you Taco Tuesday.

Day 23- Something You Crave For a Lot

I worked at Arby's all through high school.

You would think that at some point,

you would get to where just the thought of roast beef

would make you want to puke.

But it never happened,

and to this day one of the things I miss

the most about Nephi is my Arby's Melt!!

Brownies are the other thing I crave regularly...

But not just any brownies.

There's something about homemade brownies

that are crispy and flaky on the top,

but soft in the middle.

MMMMMMMM.........................

Day 22- What Makes You Different From Everyone Else

This is a hard one...
I am the type of person who doesn't care what you
are wearing or what your hair looks like.
I try to see people for who they are,
and I enjoy being with people who are the same way.
I told my mom the other day that I want
to be a good person, and not necessarily a good mormon.
Because sometimes I think those can be different.
I would rather be known as the person who people
know they can call when they need anything.
than the person who never missed church.
I think that in this day and age,
and in this part of the world
that makes me different.

Day 21: Something that makes you happy.

This will be easy cuz my family and I just made "happy lists," which is a list of things that make you genuinely happy. We made a book and put them altoghether in the book, so now when we're having a bad day we can pull out our happy list and pick something to go do or buy.
OR when someone in our family is having a bad day, we can pull out their
list and pick something off theirs to do for them.
Here are some of the things on my list:
Tanning, new books, bubble baths, sewing, keychains, cookies, sunglasses, dance, buckle jeans, Vegas, brownies, going to movies, panda express, painting, shoes, buying Kenzie something, watch bands, going out to eat, new socks, fireworks, painting my toe nails, working out, the temple, scrapbooking, finding a recipe and making it, camping, writing lettes, crafting, popcorn with peanut m&ms, magazines, cleaning my room and bathroom, lotion, buying stuff for Hemi, giving Hemi a bath, reading, facebook, Yankees, going for a drive, sudoku, rearranging furniture, vacations, cleaning my car, jewelry, going to get a drink, new purses, visiting family, printing pictures at Wal Mart, buying a new movies, cinnamon rolls, make up cases, studying Italian, Ute Stampede, chips and salsa con queso, mt. dew, fruit snacks, pasta, buying a new cd, flip flops, swimming, Arbys, swim suits, pajamas, whitening teeth, new garments, lip gloss, 4 wheeler rides, hot tubbing, road trips, chicken strips, volleyball, bowling, going for walks with Mack and Hemi, my TV shows, date nights, new sheets, sand dunes, Disneyland, Fairview canyon, christmas shopping, cooking, Snow college, you tube videos, jumping on the trampoline, baseball.
Ok, so that was most of them :]

Day 20- Someone You Love

That was easy.

Day 19- Nicknames You Have and Why You Have Them

My nicknames are:
*Ash: of course.
*Splash, Lashy, Athawey: These all come from my uncles, aunts, and grandpa.
* Any lovey dovey names you can think of: Comes from Kenz.
* Ashali or sometimes mommy (lol): Comes from my nieces.
Kenzie's nicknames are:
* Kenz, Kenzie, Mack: All short for Mackenzie
* Big Mack, Mack Daddy, Mack n Cheese: Come from his friends.
* Quincy: Came from Kris Tatton's nephew.. lol random, but it stuck!
MJ: Comes from me and papa Mike.

Day 18- Plans/Dreams/Goals You Have

Plans:
* We are planning on taking a really nice vacation this year.
Either a Vegas/California/Cruise to Mexico vacation
or a cruise to the Bahamas.
* Kenz is planning to start school this year to become a therapist.
* We are planning to stay with our in laws for a while, save money,
pay off our vehicles, then start building our
house on Duck Springs next spring.
* We are planning to wait until all those things are accomplished
before we even think about starting to plan for babies.
Dreams:
* My dream is my European vacation.
I have it all planned... now all I need is the money
and somebody to go with me.
* Our main dream in life is making a good life for ourselves
and having a family.
Goals:
* My goal right now is to lose 10-15 pounds.
I am counting my calories and working my butt off at the gym..
But it's still there. I don't think it's going anywhere!!
* Our other goal is to stay debt free and pay off our vehicles.

Day 17- Someone You Would Want to Switch Lives With for One Day and Why

Elizabeth Gilbert
Elizabeth Gilbert took a whole year off work and life
to go to Italy, India, and Indonesia.
She spent four months in each place
reflecting and discovering herself as a person.
I would want to swith lives with her for a day because
I admire her courage and desire.
I would love to take a year and go to those places
and try to make myself a better person.

Day 16: Another Picture of Yourself

Another day at the office :]
