Warmer Weather :)

I would say this weekend might have been the best one of the year so far. The weather was so nice and we totally took advantage! I already posted about our midnight movie on Thursday, which was a great way to start our weekend. On Friday, we took off after work and headed to the golf course. Kenzie is a golf fanatic and as soon as the weather gets nice, I lose a lot of time with him to Jim and the golf course! My dad and Kenzie golfed nine holes so I decided to ride in the cart and take some pictures! We went to dinner at the Salt Creek Sports Lounge and of course we had to do a few songs for karaoke night over there!

Saturday morning we wanted to do something outside because the weather was so nice. We tossed up a few ideas and finally decided to go get Mike and Amy's bikes and go for a long bike ride. We rode them out to Chester and back and it was so stinkin fun! It was quite a workout and we even got some sun on our arms and faces. We decided we are going to start going for a ride every night together.

Saturday night we went on a date with Taylon and Ashlee. We went up to Jordan Landing and watched The Hunger Games then had some dinner. Kenzie liked the movie a lot and it was mostly just nice to spend an evening with our good friends. They are some of the sweetest people I know and I'm pretty sure they would do anything for you if you needed it. I'm glad we finally set a weekend aside to go on a date night!

Sunday we got our house cleaned. We put some homemade chicken noodle soup in the crock pot and let it cook for a few hours. We went on another bike ride and we went over to see Dane and Alexa's puppies.

Can you believe how precious they are?! On Friday we can take one home, but we are having the hardest time deciding which one we want. We originally wanted a chocolate lab, but the one on the far right is super fat and has the cutest personality so we are not sure which one we will be taking. They are so fun!

We got home and ate our soup, snuggled up and watched some Prison Break (of course) until we were ready for bed. It was just one of those weekends where we thought of something we wanted to do and did it! It was so nice to have some sunshine and I am so looking forward to this spring and summer. I love the time I get to spend with my husband. I don't see him much during the week, but we definitely make up for it on the weekends.

Now it's back to work and we are on a diet this week :( We have just enough left over product to do Ignite for 5 days. So we are hitting it hard and we are planning to bike a lot of miles this week and try to get bikini ready! I am also dancing in the alumni drill team dance tonight at Showcase. I'm not looking forward to having the whole town watch us shake it, but most of my best memories from high school came from drill team so I feel like I owe it to Lisa and Marci to do it. So if you feel like watching a bunch of us "old ladies" dance, come on out and make fun of us!

Wow, that was a pretty long post! I guess you can go on with your day now :)

May the Odds Be EVER in your Favor!

Last night we did the midnight premiere of The Hunger Games. It was so much fun!! Me and Ty waited for the tickets (you will notice in the first few pictures that we got a little bored in the car.) while the rest of the fam was out in Tooele watching Mav open his mission call. PS, he's going to Puerto Rico! By the time they got home, and my cute cousin Kenzie made it over, they were seating for the movie so we got to go in and visit in our seats for about an hour before the movie started.

Please don't use this picture to blackmail me.

 LOVE HER!

SOMEDAY we are going to arrange a forced marriage with these two and they are going to be thankful for all the pictures we have of them together as kids! Haha, I love them.

So, as you can see, we had a great time together and the movie was awesome! My hubster had to work so he couldn't go. I really wish he could have come because we ended up being seated RIGHT in front of my dreaded, high school ex and I was having PTSD from bad high school memories! But I made it through, and luckily, Taylon and Ash want to see it so we are gonna double tomorrow night and Kenz will be able to experience the games!

I am thankful to my momma and Ken for getting us all tickets and I am just so happy to have my family to go do these crazy fun things with. It is so nice that we are all so close together and can meet up for dinner or movies once or twice a week. I love the crap out of these people!!

Now we get to start another fun weekend. Everyone get out and enjoy this nice weather! I can't stay inside any longer!

Finally an Update!

Okay so my cute friend Ashlee said I need to update my blog so I will!
I haven't really had anything exciting happen lately.. it's been pretty quiet around the Brown home.
So I will just share a few random things that have happened lately!

First of all, I have been cooking/baking A LOT! I have really been getting into cooking new things lately and I have been trying all new recipes! Kenzie is enjoying the food, but I don't think he likes how time consuming it can be. Here are pictures of a few of the things I've made lately...

S'mores Chocolate Chip Cookies

My Favorite.. Royal Icing! Aren't these the cutest?

BBQ Turkey: Thanks to my dear friend Franki I have finally learned how to make our own BBQ Turkey Sandwiches. The Co-op might literally go out of business because we ate there at least twice a week!

* We have been totally obsessed with Prison Break
It is a TV Series on Netflix and it is seriously so addicting. We are like halfway through all the episodes. Highly recommended!!

*This picture pretty much sums up how I feel about the IRS. We took in our taxes hoping to get a nice big refund and go to Vegas in May for UFC 146. Yeah that's not gonna happen. We found out we OWE $1500.00! Apparently we weren't having enough taken out of our checks for how much we make. Which really irritates me because we were having like $500+ taken out of our checks every month PLUS the fact that we pay sales tax on EVERYTHING we buy and STILL we have to pay them that much. I'm not a happy camper.

*We are making slow progress on our house. I don't know if I mentioned before that we redid the counter tops and now we have torn out the carpet in the kitchen and put in some tile. It looks MUCH better. I love our house.. and it is getting better and better.

*I have been begging Kenzie to let me get two baby chicks at IFA. He says NO, but I'm hoping by the end of  the week I can talk him into it. They are SO stinkin cute and when they grow up they can give us free eggs, which is one thing we go through fast!

*Tomorrow is midget wrestling in Nephi. Random right? But you know we got tickets!

*And next Thursday night we finally get to see the Hunger Games! I am so excited for this movie!

*Kenzie is doing great.. Just working A LOT still. It is nice on pay day but hard during the weeks. He is excited for softball season to start and mostly for camping season! We cannot WAIT to get up on our property and camp. The only sad thing in Kenzie's life is that he misses his best friend. Jord had his baby and we don't hear from him much now. We are really glad that he chose to be there for his little girl. But really sad that we never see him anymore. I think we always pictured that when marriage and kids came along we would do it all alongside Jordan.. so it is sad for Kenzie that we don't get to be involved in that part of his life or see his baby girl. Such is life, right? Other than that, there isn't much new going on with Kenz!

SO like I said.. nothing really exciting has happened. Just the same old.. But if something exciting does happen, I will be sure to let you know! ;)
